Imagery behind Production

The extreme closeups of the shot features the actor in covered in blood. The blood imagery is is used to interpret internal pain and torture and I wanted to convey the pressure that he is going through in his mind. As you can see, the image is lightly illustrated with chiaroscuro lighting and at this point, I wanted to include nothing else in the shot and background but the face itself.  It looks really harsh to look at as blood connotes death and immense pain that the character is exhibiting.

in the opening of the trailer, I decided to introduce the character in an ambient state; he draws a skull of an animal. Here, the significance of skulls is vital in this cut in shot: it interprets decay and of course, death itself. this was useful as it introduces the importance of both art and horror altogether, creating this sense of foreshadowing.

The masked figure lurking in the shadows creates this sense of uncertainty as it appears making ominous eye contact. The masked figure is supposed to embody the entity, to which it is unknown to the audience. Using Baudrillard's theory, this creates the boundaries between reality and hyper reality as it is blurred. What is its motives?

the bloody ooze coming out from the sink is supposed to graphically punctuate the sign of danger. I used an effect from the camera to make it appear oily black to visualise a degree of corruption

the eyes glowing in red suggests a symbol of doom. the extreme close up makes it quite intense and eerie to look at.
